Road show

The culminating point for portfolio companies of the GRIFFIN accelerator program is an investor road show that includes a mixture of customer and investor focused promotional and networking events.

Mentors

GRIFFIN draws its experience from a pool of cohort specific mentors. The 2014 mentors are a mix of serial entrepreneurs and professionals with skills and experience in the government sector or a significant technology industry networks.

Program

The accelerator program arms portfolio founders with the business tools and processes necessary to validate their idea and refine their technology in a condensed time frame. The program will run for up to 6 months (3 + 3) in Canberra, ACT.

Cash

Successful applicants will receive between $25,000 and $50,000 investment based on time and performance in the program. This is ideal for early stage businesses who need enough to kick-off the start-up journey.

Register to receive your application form. Complete the application form and upload this with a link to a 2-minute YouTube or Vimeo video presenting your business. Include the problem that you solve, your competitive advantage, how you will make money and why you are the team to do it. Videos should be made private to protect your IP.

Key   dates

Applications for GRIFFIN close on the 25th May 2014.
Notices will be released to a short list and and interviews will be held on the 3rd of June. Selection and offers will be made following an interview process and the program will start in July.

Selection

The selection process involves a full mentor review of applications followed by a workshop session for shortlisted businesses. A limited number of teams will be invited for interviews. Offers will be made immediately after.

Start

The 3+3 month full-time program will start in July 2014, when the teams will join GRIFFIN inside NICTA, Canberra, ACT.

Accelerator

GRIFFIN is an accelerator for early stage technology companies. The GRIFFIN 2014 cohort will focus on products and scaleable services where GOVERNMENT IS A CUSTOMER. Selected businesses enter an intensive development program that converts early stage ideas into fundable businesses over 3 to 6 months. This is achieved through leverage of a structured development and validation program, experienced mentors, cash investment and an investor roadshow.
